This is a journal for:
• Art dumping • Possibly prompts • Some lists and things
My art is all over the spectrum, but my One True Medium is charcoal. I don't enjoy pencil that much, but I do sketch in ink on occasion. Most of this will be photography. Down the line, I might post some poems, too. Feel free to friend, defriend, comment, ignore, read, or whatever at will.

DATE: 18 July 2008. MEDIUM: Ink, recycled sketch paper NOTES: For sandinista. Originally I split the page in two, but the Emo half of the drawing didn't turn out right at all, so I cut it in half and here we are!

DATE: Winter 2007-2008. MEDIUM: Pinhole photography NOTES: The second half of this assignment. Negatives (left) and positives. The top is the "still life" shot and the bottom is the "self portrait." It ended up being a ghost with my friend Sam in the back, but I didn't have time to do another self portrait, so I just used my first ghost (even if this one is far superior, imo.)

DATE: Winter 2007-2008. MEDIUM: Pinhole photography NOTES: Half of an assignment for one of my photo classes. Negatives (left) and positives. The top photograph is for the "ghost" assignment, although it's not a very good representation of it, and the bottom is the "home" shot we had to take.

DATE: July 2007. MEDIUM: Photography; medium format film; Holga camera NOTES: Actually a strip from one of my contact sheets from my program at Hollins University last summer. Note the double (and quadruple) exposure; I love that about Holgas. Uhh, and the fact that you manually advance the film means lots of overlap, which is what I like about this.
Also the first roll of film I shot and developed by hand.

DATE: Summer 2006. MEDIUM: Photography NOTES: This was my first print. The photograph is (c) Gregory Blank, my uncle, taken of me and my cousin when I was about five or six, and when he was teaching me how to develop and print a few years back, he broke out some old negatives. The scan is not that good, kinda fucked from resizing, and there was some dust on the glass that I didn't see. But the tonal qualities are about the same.
